What is LaseMD Ultra?

This non-ablative fractional laser triggers a healing response in your skin. New collagen and elastin are produced, leading to beautiful, firmer skin over time. Some of the issues that can be treated with LaseMD Ultra include:

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Age spots
  • Melasma
  • Actinic keratosis
  • Rough and uneven skin
  • Dull skin
  • Large pores
  • Sun damage
  • Acne scars

The face is the most common treatment area. LaseMD Ultra can also be applied to the chest/decolletage, hands, arms, neck, and shoulders.

LaseMD is fully customizable so Dr. Greene can provide a vibrant, healthy glow, or can also target serious skin conditions and aging. It works for all skin types and can benefit people of various ages.

Does LaseMD Ultra Tighten Skin?

Because the treatment stimulates collagen and elastin, you may see some degree of tightening, especially in the first day or two after treatment. LaseMD Ultra may not be the best solution if loose skin is your main concern, but it can often be combined with treatments that are specially designed for tightening.

What is the Treatment Process?

The LaseMD Ultra process is easy, simple, and can be completed on your lunch break or another convenient time in your schedule.

You’ll come to our Seattle practice and get comfortable in the treatment room. Dr. Greene and our team will address any last-minute questions or concerns you may have. If you are receiving a deeper, more intense treatment, we will apply numbing topical anesthetic gel to your face. Milder treatment plans may not require anesthetic.

Dr. Greene moves the handpiece in a strategic pattern across your face or other treatment area. The ergonomic shape of the handpiece optimizes Dr. Greene’s control over treating otherwise hard-to-reach areas around the nose, eyes, and mouth. You may feel tingling, warmth, or mild discomfort. Most people are able to tolerate the treatment quite well because it is gentle.

The laser session itself takes roughly 10-20 minutes depending on the treatment area. While you may see good results from a single session, most people benefit from a few sessions spaced about a month apart.

LaseMD Ultra Aftercare

Aftercare instructions for this laser treatment include:

  • Apply an ice pack to the area if you experience continuing warmth in the hours following treatment (wrap the ice pack in gauze before holding it to your skin)
  • Gently wash your face after the first day, taking care to pat dry instead of scrubbing or rubbing with a towel
  • Moisturize the treated area daily
  • To reduce post-treatment redness, avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas, and other activities that increase your internal temperature
  • Use only alcohol-free cosmetics for one week after treatment
  • Be extra vigilant with sun protection for the first 30 days (sunscreen, hats, avoiding prolonged sun exposure)

We will provide complete guidelines so you know how to care for your skin and ensure great results.

Is There a Recovery Period or Downtime?

This non-ablative laser offers minimal downtime and recovery. Your face will be red after treatment, but swelling is minimal. We will apply a calming LaseMD Ultra mask and serum to cool the warmth the treatment creates.

You can get right back to your day as long as you are comfortable with being out and about while your face is flushed. You can go to dinner, go back to work, keep appointments with friends and family – there is no mandatory downtime.

The next day there will be residual redness. Your skin will begin to feel sandpapery or gritty within the next day or two, as the surface of the skin begins to exfoliate. Severe peeling is uncommon. The exfoliation process should resolve within one week after it begins.

How Long Do LaseMD Ultra Results Last?

Most people continue to enjoy their results for up to a year before they may opt for a refresher or another rejuvenating treatment. It’s important to note that individual results will vary; our skin ages at different rates. You can maintain your results by protecting your skin from damage caused by sun exposure, smoking, unhealthy eating, and dehydration.
